Thus far the summer is going very well for the professor. His health is good and his spirits are up. Several friends and family members have visited....George Markowski, Richard Greenblatt, Bob Massie and family, to name a few.....and we look forward to seeing many more as the season progresses. Seymour very much enjoys having this interaction and, with free time being such a commodity these days, it is truly a blessing to have such wonderful people come calling. We caregivers wish to thank Richard, for faithfully helping Seymour with speech therapy and motor skill work, and George for being a constant friend, helper, and all around "good guy".  Best wishes to you all and hope your summer is a good one!

May 2012 Update

Seymour weathered the Maine winter in good shape and is looking forward for the take out stands to open up. He continues to work with Rick Greenblatt two days a week on his speech therapy. His speech is steadily improving although there is a long way to go. He enjoys Skyping with his many friends on  a daily basis and checks his email frequently (papert@midmaine.com). Seymour and Suzanne are having
a new house built that is all on one floor so Seymour can walk around without steps.

We are very happy to announce that Dr. Seymour Papert, having been born on a leap year, has FINALLY reached the legal drinking age, here in the United States, of 21 years old....tho it's taken him almost 85 years to do it!  Thank you to everyone who sent Birthday wishes via postal mail, Facebook, email and by phone. Seymour had a wonderful party which was attended by some of his closest local friends here in Blue Hill, Maine and the surrounding areas.  Seymours spirits are high and his health is good.  Don't forget that the Professor loves to hear from all of his colleagues, friends, and fans so please don't hesitate to send an email or post a comment on his Facebook page.

Feb. 7th update

Apart from some lingering issues from Seymours accident,he is doing very well for a man who will be 84 years old . He is a leap year baby and says he is only 22! He has a physical therapist(that he adores) and she comes once a week. He also has speech therapy twice a week with Rick Greenblatt,an old friend from MIT.He enjoys reading the NYT every day,and sometimes has  heated discussions with Peter about current events. Because Seymour has to relearn many things,it has given Peter an opportunity to employ some of Seymours educational theories in his rehab.
